Jay LaCouture is a Boston based multimedia artist. He is constantly inspired by his environment and his work is a reflection of the people, places and objects he interacts with on a daily basis. Jay has a tendency towards balance. Being a classically trained programmer, his work is an escape towards the single-pointedness of his youth, when things weren’t so technical, and when things weren’t moving so quickly. In 2004, with the help of some friends at Northeastern, Jay started AntiDesigns out of his apartment in Fenway. Not being able to afford the price of having his designs created by a local printer, Jay started experimenting with screen printing and the rest is history. Today he has a studio in Boston’s art hub the Distillery and runs a modest screen printing operation.
